Nine West F/W 2015 Collection Launch

I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman (or even a man) that doesn’t like shoes. Me? Well, it’s no secret – I really REALLY like shoes! Actually, I LOOOVE shoes! Ok, fine….I’m a bit of a shoe-fanatic or more like shoe-obsessed! Put it this way, if you say ‘shoe-porn’, I’ll be there and I wanna be all up in that! Not in a nasty, foot-fetishy way or anything but ya know what I mean. When it comes to shoe brands and labels, I may not be an expert, but lets just say I know my way around the shoe department and I’m confident to say that I know my deets. So when one says Nine West, of course I know it! And to host their exclusive launch event? Yippee! Sounds good to me!! 🙂

Nine West FW '15 Having been around since 1978 and in over 78 different countries, who doesn’t know Nine West? I always knew that the sophisticated ‘n chic woman’s shoe label offered a wide range of stylish sexy footwear and accessories, but now they’ve branched out even further and offer equally trendy threads for the modern woman.

Nine West FW '15 The exclusive event was held at their Raffles City outlet in Singapore and to celebrate the launch of their new collection, there was a special fashion show presenting the six different lines for the season – Fusion, Snobby, The Poet, College, Clair Obscur and Victorian Folk. I hosted the event in a cute little number from their “Snobby” line.

Each of the guests also had the opportunity to get a caricature done of themselves and have it put on their very own personalised mug by Adam, the caricature artist.

Champagne, cute clothes, hot shoes…..it was a great evening surrounded by fellow fashionistas. Congrats to Nine West for the launch of their Fall/Winter Collection and thank you for having me as your host for the special occasion. Also a big thank you to my manager, Wendy from Fly Entertainment for taking such good care of me that night.

The Intimate Side of Cirque…..Le Noir!!!

Dancing, acting, jumping, bending and doing all sorts of things you’d never imagine a body could…..how could one not love Cirque Du Soleil?! I watched my first Cirque Du Soleil performance in Las Vegas a few years ago and it was AMAZING…..I was absolutely blown away!! It was called LOVE and the entire show was a tribute to the Beatles. So from that point on my standard for any Cirque or any similar type of performance was set very high. Since then I’ve seen a couple here and there, but as my standards were set so high, to my disappointment, they didn’t quite meet up to my expectations. When the kind peeps from Base Entertainment extended the invite to the gala premiere of Le Noir I was a bit hesitant at first…..will it be good? Will I get disappointed?? Well, I’m the kinda girl that will give anything a try or a chance so thought why not? WOW! Am I glad I did!! Sexy, sensual, risqué, hilarious, romantic….the show had all the elements and more! From the moment I first sat down to the end, Le Noir kept me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. The entire show was filled with thrilling surprises and nonstop excitement. The stage set-up automatically set it apart from the norm. The stage was placed in the centre with seats surrounding all around it which added to the dramatic element.

Animated much? I guess you can tell how much I enjoyed the show. hehe! I even had a fangirl moment and got a quick snap with a few of the members of the cast. Yay! 🙂

Belle and Tulle Exclusive Trunk Show

Pretty much every girl grows up dreaming of that magical day, that once in a lifetime moment, the day she walks down the aisle and devotes her love to that special person in her life…..her wedding day! The day when two soul mates unite, become one and commit to a life long journey together living happily ever after. Of course it’s a memorable day for both the bride and the groom, but let’s face it……it’s just sooooo much more important for the bride. Hahaha! Every girl may be different and will have her own preferences but the day she gets married is her time to shine and have her very own princess, fairy tale moment. The most important part of the wedding day is, of course, THE dress!!!

Recently, I hosted the Belle & Tulle exclusive trunk show and I was in gown heaven! As soon as I stepped foot into the boutique, located in Palais Renaissance, I was greeted with walls adorned with stunning gowns from international renowned designers.

For the show I wore the Garbo gown from Anne Barge Black Label Collection and let me tell you, Anne knows a woman’s body and how to accentuate our lines! The dress fit perfectly! It was fate…..a match made in heaven…..Garbo and I were meant to be!! I was in looooove! Hehe!

The models wore gorgeous gowns from Lela Rose, Anne Barge, Kenneth Pool, Elie by Elie Saab and the couture collections of Romona Keveza and Naeem Khan. They each wore glittering hair accessories by Jennifer Behr, which are each hand made and are considered to be the most luxurious head pieces in the market today.

X-Men Southeast Asia Gala Premiere

Ok, so when it comes to movies, I’m more of a romantic comedy kind of girl. Yah, some may be cheesy and predictable but at the end of the day I like how they give you that ‘feel good’ boost. If it’s an action flick then it has to have a captivating story line to really draw me in or keep my attention. I’m not going to sit and watch cars crashing, buildings blowing up and people bashing each other up for no reason…..just not my thing. But then….there’s X-Men! That’s a WHOOOOLE other story! Ok ok, so I’ll admit the main reason I was even interested in the movie in the first place was probably because of Hugh Jackman, who I first watched in Swordfish. I watched the first of the X-Men series without much expectation, especially since I was never really into comics and had no idea about the storyline, but once I watched it, I was hooked! And Hugh Jackman bursting through his singlet throughout the entire movie, if not topless, may or may not have helped. Haha! Ladies…you know what I’m talking about! 😛

So not only have I been a HUGE fan of Hugh Jackman for the longest time, but I’ve also been a fan of the X-Men franchise since it first came out. So when I, along with a selected few other regional celebrities got the invite to the Southeast Asia gala premiere of the latest X-men blockbuster in Singapore, I was ecstatic!! Not only were we to watch the exclusive screening of the movie before the rest of the world, but we were to walk the very same ‘blue carpet’ that the cast would walk on. AHHHH!!! To top that off we were invited into the VIP area in which the cast including, Hugh Jackman, Peter Dinklage and Fan Bing Bing were to join to share a few words before the actual screening. O!M!G!….to say the least!

The screening was held at the Shaw House and all of outside and inside was packed up the wazoo with fans. Yah, we all knew they were there for the Hollywood stars, but the fans were so nice to show us some love as well as we walked down the blue carpet into the theatre. So here’s me sending huge hugs and kisses to you all!! 🙂

Yet again, the amazing folks from Running Into The Sun did an awesome job in organising the entire gala event. BIG big thank you to each and everyone from the team for the invite and making my dream come true….I got to be in the same room as Hugh Jackman!!! Waaaah!! And of course it goes without saying, a gynormous thank you to my managers at Fly Entertainment for taking such good care of us during the event! Mmmmuacks! 🙂

Oh! One other thing….I finally got to wear my adorable botanical romper from Finder’s Keepers, which I picked up recently on my trip to Tokyo. ❤ Here’s a quick snippet of the event. **sorry for the quality guys, its the best I could do 😦

APPAWS–Help Our Strays

Dogs have always been known as man’s best friend. Besides the obvious fact that they are irresistibly adorable and make for the perfect cuddle buddy, they are always there by our sides with unconditional love no matter what. They’re always the happiest to see us when we get home and somehow they seem to know exactly when we’re feeling blue and offer that extra bit of lovin to perk us back up. These furkids basically live their entire lives striving for our love and approval! To them, we ARE their lives……they live their whole lives for US!!!

Knowing this, I can’t fathom how and why someone could ever even have the thought of harming, abusing or abandoning puppies, dogs, or animals in general. Now, the purpose of this blog isn’t to blast, burn or make an attack against those sick, horrid individuals that are a total embarrassment to the human race. It’s absolutely repulsive to know that there will always be some sicko out there that is capable of doing such horrible things. Calling all dog and animal lovers out there-we can help put a stop to this! We can all take part in some way, big or small, to help raise awareness and lending a helping hand by either donating, volunteering or even offering a loving home to our furry friends.

Recently, the awesome folks from Running Into the Sun held an event called APPAWS, which was held on World Stray Animals Day and I had the great pleasure of being the host for the day. I had an absolute ball being surrounded by so many doggies, meeting fellow fur-parents and animal lovers. My little Cobey even came down to support! First time my little boy got to attend an event mommy was hosting. hehe! 😛

The day was filled with fun games and activities including music acts by Gentle Bones, Joie Tan, and Benjamin Kheng and Sandra Riley Tang from The Sam Willows; food drive by the official pet store Pet Lovers Centre; an adoption drive with 25 dogs looking for a loving home from the 5 Animal Welfare Groups-Causes for Animals (CAS), Exclusively Mongrels (EM), HOPE Dog Rescue (HOPE), Animal Lovers League (ALL), Save Our Street Dogs (SOSD); and even a fur-tastic fashion show where fashionable doggies got to strut their stuff with their humans.

There were also some tear jerking moments when we heard the stories of what some of the dogs went through and we even met a few of the ‘most improved’. I won’t lie….I did shed a few tears. Ok, maybe a lot. It was so sad to hear what these poor pooches had gone through yet so touching to see how even after all the abuse and neglect they are still able to have the love and trust in us, humans. It was a day filled with all kinds of emotions that’s for sure, but definitely a great way to open our eyes, give back, raise awareness and most importantly to help raise funds for our animal welfare groups who do such a great job in taking care of our strays.

An Exciting New Adventure!

I’ve been dying to share with everyone some amazing news and now that it’s official, here it is……I’m thrilled to the bits to announce that I have been appointed as the official host and “The Face” of RTL CBS Network in Asia. To be part of a network that will be bringing to all of Asia, THE best of the best in television is absolutely mind blowing! I’m so excited, humbled and incredibly honored to be part of the RTL CBS family and I can’t wait for the many years that we’ll be sharing together as a team and all the awesomeness we’ll be bringing to everyone all across Asia!

Who’s RTL CBS Asia you ask? They are a venture between two of the world’s largest content producers: RTL Group and CBS Studios International. So this means we have access to the top shows and a library of titles from RTL Group’s content arm, FremantleMedia, and from CBS, America’s number one network that owns a vast catalogue of more than 70,000 hours of programming. How cool is that??!!!

What does it mean to be “The Face” of the network? To sum it all up, it means that I, together with my co-host Sonia Davison represent the network as a whole and will connect with you, the audience, through both the networks’ channels – RTL CBS Entertainment HD and RTL CBS Extreme HD, from red carpet interviews and promotional teasers, to fronting brand new content productions as well as hosting and attending events affiliated with both the channels. Healthy Travel Tips, Travel Adventures & Tips

Earth Friendly Ninh Van Bay

Our environment is precious to us and we all do our best to do our bit at home. Whether it be saving water and electricity, recycling, and of course, eating healthy…we try to do what we can. Even when we are on holiday, we can always aim to be be environmentally cautious, but some things are just usually not under our control. What if I told you that you can go on vacation and feel at ease because the entire resort follows an earth-friendly, body-loving motto? It’s like you are getting the best of both worlds, a two in one kinda package deal! Staying healthy while vacationing, at the same time being cautious of the environment? Wooot! Sounds like a win, win, win to me!! 🙂

I recently enjoyed an amazing three night stay at the Six Senses Ninh Van Bay, Vietnam and it was a total surreal and tranquil experience, to say the least. It had all the elements of a ‘feel good, ultimate escape’ holiday – privacy, relaxation, adventure, and the resort itself encouraged healthy living and an earth friendly lifestyle.

The rustic nature of the resort embodies the ‘back-to-nature’ feeling without actually having to camp out with your sleeping bag in the middle of the jungle. The entire resort is open concept and when I first learned about this, I have to admit that I did feel a a bit hesitant and I wasn’t sure how bearable the heat would be, but honestly speaking it wasn’t an issue at all! I grew up mostly in countries with four seasons and spent most of my life in Korea so heat is one thing that I am quite sensitive about, but at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay I wasn’t bothered one bit. Now the bedroom does have air-conditioning, which is really all you need truthfully.

The beach-front villa where I stayed was just a few steps from the beautiful crystal clear waters of the Anadaman Sea. In the evening I would enjoy the amazing sunset in my own lounge area upstairs and during the day I would relax on the sundeck chairs by my private pool. What else could one ask for?

My private butler, Luan, was incredibly helpful and he took care of all my bookings, arrangements, or any questions I would have.

Along with earth-friendly messages and reminders all throughout the resort, they encouraged healthy eating by even having their very own gorgeous organic garden with different herbs and veggies.

The in-room dining menu also had sections of healthy dishes and alternatives. My favorite was the delicious fresh vegetarian spring rolls! 🙂

To further the healthy vacationing experience, they also offer each villa two bicycles so you are able to cycle around the resort, to and from the restaurants or spa.

What’s a tropical holiday without a massage? I indulged a bit and treated myself to a massage each day I stayed. I tried the Thai massage, Vietnamese massage, and the Oriental massage which was out of this world!!!

The view from not only my room but the resort-wide was incredibly breathtaking – a collage of sights that I was getting very used to…..

After my stay at Six Senses Ninh Van Bay I can definitely say that three days is nowhere near enough. Times flies when you’re having fun right? But I can surely say I will be going back! 🙂
